I am obviously delighted to have won another victory here. The day was not particularly pleasant. I do not like it when you have to drive carefully to the finish. In these cases, I do not drive well, I'm less comfortable with it since what I like most is the fight. Today there were none.

Seb says no to Le Mans !

Sebastien has turned down the chance to drive a Peugeot 908 for the factory team at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours because of the amount of time he would have to dedicate to the project.

Due to start on 12 June, this year's Le Mans is the first since 2006 not to clash with a round of the WRC, prompting speculation that sportscar racing fan Sebastien would join Peugeot's squad. But after weighing up the demands of the Le Mans testing programme, together with his existing WRC commitments - including simultaneous test programmes for the C4 WRC and next year's DS3 - Sebastien decided to park his sportscar ambitions for this year.

"Hirvonen was too strong"

SÉBASTIEN LOEB recognised the superiority of his rival on this specific surface for the first rally of the season.

Yesterday, Sébastien Loeb experienced an up and down day. Determined to try anything in the morning, beaten psychologically after two stages, he was fatalistic at the end of the rally and already looking to the future after the podium ceremony. Beaten by Hirvonen, the six times world champion is not worrying about the rest of the season, which will also, no doubt, include the 24 Heures du Mans with Peugeot on 12 and 13 June.
